This too shall pass

$495.00

Like every landscape I paint, this place holds intense memories for me. It was truly ominous visiting here with my family with a storm threatening as it was. On reflection, this experience was very symbolic of my journey at that time as a Mum of little ones, in a difficult relationship. It wasn’t long after that I became a single Mum and it felt like the ‘storm’ continued to rage for quite a long time, clouding me in darkness.

But this painting is a celebration of what comes next, when we keep going and hold onto hope, and eventually the light comes into our life again. I love the little bit of blue sky peeking through and the hints of light on the rocks and wet sand. There is lovely texture in the rocky headland, but the little pastel pops of colour are the heroes of this piece, in my biased opinion!

Weathering storms certainly does make us stronger. When in the middle of one, it is important to remember that it will eventually pass... and the sun will come out again. This artwork is a reminder to hold onto hope and wait…

This artwork has been lovingly framed in a handcrafted Meranti timber float frame.

45 x 45cm acrylics on canvas, framed, ready to hang
